The Parliament is scheduled to reconvene on Monday following a two-week recess, with the appointment of two Supreme Court judges listed as a primary item on the agenda.

According to parliamentary procedures, the legislature holds three sessions each year:

  • First term: February to 15 May

  • Second term: June to 15 August

  • Third term: October to November

The upcoming sitting marks the first session of the second term. The official agenda has been published on the parliament’s website.

The most significant matter to be considered is the proposal to fill two vacant seats on the Supreme Court bench. Names of the nominees were sent by the President, though specific details have not yet been made public. The nominations will be forwarded to the Judiciary Committee for review.

The session will also consider the President’s nominations for non-resident ambassadorial postings to three countries: Nepal, Ireland, and Ukraine. These names will be referred to the Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee for evaluation.
