Former Minister Hamdhoon Hameed has been appointed as Planning Advisor to the Ministry of Finance and Planning, at ministerial rank.
The ministry confirmed the appointment to Atoll Times on Tuesday. Media officer Ifad Waheed said Hamdhoon will be working within the planning department and will advise on the formulation of the national development plan.
“Hamdhoon is a former Planning Minister and an expert in the field, so we will seek his advice in formulating this plan,” Ifad said.
Hamdhoon previously served as Planning Minister during the administration of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. He has also represented Inguraidhoo constituency in Parliament and was appointed as non-resident ambassador to Singapore during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen.
