The government has announced a partnership with Alibaba to enable Maldivian businesses to open accounts and sell local products through the platform.
Economic Development Minister Mohamed Saeed said on Wednesday that the ministry and Alibaba will hold a one-day online workshop on Tuesday. The session will guide Maldivian entrepreneurs and e-commerce operators on how to register business accounts with Alibaba and expand their activities through the platform.
The workshop will be conducted by Alibaba experts and is part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s pledge to facilitate online commerce and broaden access to international e-commerce platforms.
