The Bank of Maldives (BML) has launched Visa’s Infinite Credit Card, a digital payment service introduced at a ceremony held at the bank’s headquarters.

Finance Minister Moosa Zameer officiated the launch.

According to BML, this is the first metal card introduced in Maldives. The bank noted that the availability of wide service options with specific privileges reflects changing customer needs and growing demand for advanced financial products.

The Visa Infinite Card includes several benefits for cardholders, including VIP status at selected hotels, airport services, fast-track immigration, meet-and-assist services and access to more than 2,000 lounges worldwide. Holders will also have priority reservation services, access to certain events, golf, spa services, club membership and selected premium digital subscriptions.

BML’s CEO and Managing Director, Mohamed Shareef, said the bank is pleased to introduce the card as part of efforts to expand premium banking services. He stated that the card includes a range of benefits designed to match customer lifestyles and reflects the bank’s aim of strengthening digital payment options in Maldives.

Visa’s Country Manager for Maldives and Maldives, Avanthi Colombage, said the card will offer various international privileges. He noted that the first metal card in Maldives sets a new benchmark for premium digital experiences and shows the rising demand for exclusive services among customers. He said the introduction of the card reflects Visa’s commitment to developing new payment solutions.

BML and Visa have collaborated since 2002, when BML first introduced Visa cards in Maldives. The bank later introduced the country’s first Sharia-compliant Visa credit card. Its current portfolio includes Classic, Gold and Platinum Visa credit cards, as well as Classic Debit and the recently launched Platinum Card.
