The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has extended the deadline for the third call for expressions of interest (EOI) to provide helicopter services in the Maldives.
The EOI was originally announced on 22 January with a submission deadline of 25 March. The deadline has now been extended to 21 April.
The Ministry is seeking a company to provide helicopter services across the country. The scope of the service includes commercial passenger transport, emergency medical evacuations, and search and rescue operations across all islands.
The selected operator will be granted exclusive rights to provide these services in the Maldives for a period of 10 years.
The Ministry had previously issued calls for expressions of interest in August and December last year. No operator has been selected to date.
