The Bank of Maldives (BML) has introduced concessions for employees as part of efforts to support operations, maintain customer service standards and develop a working environment based on digital systems.

The bank stated that work carried out last year focused on improving digital capability and strengthening operations. These measures form part of its approach to maintain customer service while adapting working arrangements.

BML spokesperson Mohamed Saeed said the changes aim to support employees in managing health, work and personal commitments. Employees have been given the option to conclude office-based duties from 3 PM starting from the first day of this month.

He added that digital platforms and remote working systems allow employees to provide services without being limited by location or time. He stated that this arrangement would allow banking services to continue without interruption.

Under the revised system, employees required to remain in offices to ensure continuity of services will continue their duties without disruption. The bank confirmed that customer service hours will remain unchanged and that customers will continue to access services as before.

BML stated that the changes are expected to support operations and lower operational costs.
