MSS says Male’ port congestion may delay bookings
The company said vessel turnaround times, sailing schedules and transshipment routes through Colombo may be changed without prior notice.
The Maldives State Shipping Company (MSS) has said bookings may be delayed without prior notice due to congestion at the Male’ Commercial Port.
MSS said in a statement Wednesday that passengers have been waiting for several days at the Sri Lankan port as a result of congestion at Male’ Port.
The company said vessel turnaround times, sailing schedules and transshipment routes through Colombo may be changed without prior notice.
MSS said the situation is linked to the impact of geopolitical developments on global shipping. It said freight rates, surcharges, schedules and bookings may be changed without notice.
“MSS reserves the right to review freight rates, cancel or suspend bookings, change ship schedules or routes and take operational measures as it deems necessary in the event of difficulties in port operations, sanctions or other serious circumstances,” the company said.
MSS and its agents will not be liable for direct, indirect or consequential damages resulting from delays, according to the statement.
The company said bookings will only be accepted when the relevant terms and conditions are met.
