President Mohamed Muizzu has submitted three nominees to Parliament for the appointment of a Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation.
The position became vacant after former Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation Fathimath Ameeza was appointed Commissioner General of Taxation.
Following a public announcement seeking applications for the vacant position, the President selected three candidates from among the applicants and forwarded their names to Parliament.
The nominees are Ahmed Shafneez, Bageechaage, S. Hulhudhoo; Ahmed Mausoom, V. Miares; and Mariyam Jaidha, Kandugasdhoshuge, K. Dhiffushi.
The President has asked Parliament to select and approve one of the three nominees for appointment as Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation.
The matter was presented at Monday’s sitting of Parliament and referred to the Economic Affairs Committee for consideration.
