BML to discontinue envelop deposit service
The bank has decided to discontinue the service from March 1.

Bank of Maldives (BML) has decided to discontinue the service of depositing cash in envelopes.
The bank has decided to discontinue the service from March 1.

As part of the service where cheques and cash can be deposited in envelopes, deposits of soiled notes and those of smaller denominations such as MVR 5 and 10 are also accepted.
However, unlike the service where money can be deposited directly from ATMs, the envelope deposit service does not allow instant cash deposits.
Funds are credited on the next working day and cheques from other banks to be credited to their accounts.
