Ooredoo, Jalboot to ease SIM access for tourists

Ooredoo Maldives on Wednesday signed an agreement with Jalboot Maldives, UAE's first integrated marine solutions provider operating in Maldives, to facilitate ease of access to communication services for tourists in Maldives.
At a ceremony held at Ooredoo headquarters on Wednesday, the agreement was signed on behalf of the companies by:

Under the agreement, Jalboot customers will be able to purchase Ooredoo tourist SIM cards directly from vessels without going to a counter or shop.
Ooredoo said the purpose of this agreement is to ease access to communication services for tourists during their stay in the Maldives and to enhance their holiday experience.
CEO of Ooredoo, Khalid said that it is important to have reliable telecom and internet services available always in this digital age.
"As part of this strategic partnership [established] with Jalboot Maldives, our goal is to make it easier for tourists to purchase SIM cards directly from boats" he said.
Jalboot’s Roestali said communications and technology are important services for the company's development. Ooredoo plays an important and leading role in providing advanced digital services, he said.
"As two companies working towards the same direction to enrich the lives of the community, this partnership will enhance the experience of tourists," he said.
