Pres forms cabinet council for tourism promotion
The purpose of the newly established Visitor Council is to promote various components of tourism.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Sunday created a new cabinet council called the Visitor Economy Council to promote various types of tourism in Maldives.
The first cabinet meeting of the new government held on Sunday approved the establishment of the council with the aim of promoting tourism in Maldives.
The Economic Council was established in 2012 to examine the challenges facing the economy and what can be done to develop the economy. A social council was also established to formulate and coordinate action at the policy level to address social issues.

The purpose of the newly established Visitor Council is to promote various components of tourism.
The council will be responsible for diversifying the country’s tourism and promoting various types of tourism such as health tourism, eco-tourism and cultural tourism, the under-secretary of the Office, Mohammed Firzul said at a press conference at the President’s Office on Sunday.
The council will work with the government to promote other components of tourism such as health tourism, transport and educational tourism.
In addition, the council will work to promote Maldives as a tourism brand.
