Soneva Secret, a resort developed by Soneva, has been opened at Dhipparafushi island in H.Dh.Makunudhoo lagoon, the westernmost part of the Maldives.
Soneva has developed this small island in the Makunudhoo lagoon, about twenty minutes from the island, as a luxury resort. This is the second resort currently operating in Haa Dhaalu atoll.
Away from other islands, Soneva designed the island as a place where tourists can have their own perfect privacy, and private experiences.
The island which was once used as a picnic island by the people of Makunudhoo now features:
-
14 villas have been developed in the island including sea and beach
-
This is a unique water villa concept
-
Each villa hosts an assistant, a butler and personal chef to serve the tourists
In an interview with the Hotel Investments website last year, Soneva founder Sonu Shivdasani said:
-
The resort cost USD 40 million (MVR 614 million).
-
Each room cost USD 3 million (MVR 46 million).
Soneva currently operates Soneva Fushi in Baa Atoll and Soneva Jani in Noonu Atoll. In addition, the company's chartered yacht Soneva Aqua serves tourists; the company also operates a resort in Thailand.
