
Public input sought on criteria for Maldives Happiness Index

The public has been invited to provide feedback on eight key areas that will be considered in calculating the Maldives Happiness Index.
Local Government Minister Adam Shareef, who is overseeing the development of the index, called for public input through a message marking World Happiness Day. In a post on his official X account, the minister stated that the criteria for assessing national happiness have been identified. The eight areas are:

The Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) has been assigned to develop the country’s first Happiness Index. Initially, nine areas were identified when the index was introduced in February, but the framework has since been revised to include eight.
