Police Commissioner Ali Shujau confirmed on Thursday that Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed, the young woman who fell from the window of H. Fentenoige last Thursday night, is currently not in a condition to provide information to assist the ongoing investigation.

Speaking at a press conference, Shujau stated that investigators have yet to obtain any information from Yumnu regarding the circumstances surrounding her fall. He added that her recovery remains the top priority and that her health condition does not allow for any form of engagement at this time.

“The victim is not in a position to do what we want for the investigation,” Shujau said. “By the grace of Allah, the victim will recover, and we hope and pray that she will recover as soon as possible.”

Shujau emphasised that strict medical protocols at the hospital prevent investigators from interacting with her while she remains unfit to communicate.

“So other state agencies will be able to engage only after the victim talks to us,” he added.

Police said Yumnu fell from a height of approximately 89 feet. Details of her injuries have not been publicly disclosed.

Authorities have also confirmed that Raud Ahmed Zilal, the man who was with Yumnu at the time of the incident, is refusing to cooperate with the investigation. Police have since arrested him.
