Heavy Force has been awarded the contract to construct a new harbour in GDh. Nadella.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony held on Sunday at the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure. Minister Dr Abdulla Muththalib signed on behalf of the Ministry, while Managing Director Ibrahim Zameer signed on behalf of Heavy Force.
The project has been contracted for a duration of 450 days, at a cost of MVR 78.6 million.
The scope of the project includes:

Dredging for the harbour basin

Canal excavation and canal footprint preparation

Construction of revetment and an outer channel

Installation of mooring facilities and a quay wall

Construction of a ramp, canal lighting, and port lighting

Laying of pavement around the harbour area
The project is part of the government’s harbour development initiatives across the islands.
