Police have seized more than 200 vape-related items from an apartment in the Hiyaa housing complex during an investigation linked to a domestic complaint.
According to police, the search was carried out on Thursday at a second-floor apartment following a domestic violence report received at 9:14 p.m.
Officers found 242 bottles of flavoured vape liquid in the apartment. The items were taken into police custody.
Police did not provide further details about the domestic violence case and did not confirm whether any arrests had been made. The investigation is ongoing.
The import and use of vapes has been banned in Maldives since December. The law imposes fines for offences related to vaping.
Last month, 22 people were fined for various vape-related violations. Police statistics show:
