The ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) is currently the largest political party in the Maldives by membership, according to figures released by the Elections Commission on Saturday.
The commission published updated data on the registered membership of political parties, showing that the PNC has 74,048 members.
The figures also show that the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) is the largest opposition party, with a membership of 43,784.
According to the Elections Commission, the Jumhooree Party (JP) and the Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) have the next highest number of registered members.
