Fenaka Saeed transferred to house arrest over health reasons

Former Fenaka Managing Director Ahmed Saeed, who is serving a four-year prison sentence, has been temporarily transferred to house arrest, the Maldives Correctional Service confirmed on Monday.

Corrections spokesperson Aiminath Yusreen told Atoll Times that Saeed was placed under house arrest on Sunday due to health reasons.
“Saeed was temporarily placed under house arrest yesterday due to his health condition,” Yusreen said, adding that no further details would be disclosed.
Following his sentencing, Saeed experienced health-related issues and was taken to hospital on several occasions, according to officials.
