A Maldivian national held in a drug case in Thailand has died while in custody, police said on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Ibrahim Nabeeh Naseem, 22, of Fanaaru, Th. Guraidhoo.
According to the Maldives Police Service, Nabeeh died while being held in a prison facility in Thailand.
Police said Nabeeh had been arrested on the 22nd of last month at Don Mueang International Airport.
Authorities said the case involved drug-related offences.
The Maldives Police Service said it is working with the relevant authorities to investigate the incident.
