President Solih meets Ooredoo Group executives

In his speech, the President highlighted the important work being done by Ooredoo Maldives under its social responsibility in the country.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Tuesday met with the leaders of the Ooredoo Group.

President Solih met with the heads of Ooredoo Maldives' parent company during his ongoing visit to Qatar at the invitation of Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

He met with Ooredoo Group Managing Director and CEO Aziz Aluthman Fakhroo and other senior officials of the company.

Speaking at the meeting, President Solih highlighted the role played by Ooredoo in providing communication services in the Maldives and the strong ties between the Maldives and Qatar.

In his speech, the president pointed out:

  • Ooredoo plays an important role in enhancing technology linkages

  • It is part of the general development of the Maldives and Qatar.

In his speech, the president highlighted the important work being done by Ooredoo Maldives under its social responsibility in the health sector, women's empowerment and disaster mitigation. He also spoke about the company's digital literacy programme, removing barriers in building a digital Maldives, and Hulhumale' Smart City Initiative.

Concluding the meeting, President Solih and Ooredoo Group MD Aziz expressed hope that Ooredoo will expand its services with the latest technology and increase the assistance provided to the Maldives.
