The Maldives Media and Broadcasting Commission (MMBC) has reminded newspapers and magazines to complete their re-registration before the deadline expires next month.

Publications previously registered and operating under the Newspapers and Magazines Act were given six months to re-register and update their records.

The deadline to complete the re-registration process is October 27.

In an announcement issued on Tuesday, the MMBC said newspapers that fail to re-register within the stipulated period will have their registrations cancelled in accordance with the regulations.

The commission urged publications that have yet to complete the process to do so before the deadline.
