A 22-year-old Maldivian student has died in a car accident in Malaysia on Sunday night.
The student who died has been identified as Aamina Emily Nazim, from Hithadhoo, Addu City. She was studying at Taylor’s University in Malaysia.
The President’s Office has confirmed to Dhauru that a Maldivian national died in the accident.
Another Maldivian student who was travelling in the same car was also injured in the accident. However, the student is not believed to have sustained serious injuries.
The accident occurred while the students were travelling home after shopping in Kuala Lumpur.
They had booked the car through the Grab ride-hailing application and were on their way home when the accident occurred.
