Former Malé City Council member Mohamed Aiman Ismail, known as Aanu, has been arrested on suspicion of sexually harassing a minor while holding a position of trust.
Police confirmed on Tuesday evening that Aiman, who previously represented the Maafannu South constituency on Malé City Council, had been arrested in connection with an allegation of sexual harassment involving a child.

Police did not disclose further details of the allegation, citing the nature of the case and the ongoing investigation.
