WAMCO has asked households to complete and submit Utility Metre Exclusion Form if they have an elevator or maintenance metre included in the main electricity metre.
WAMCO's garbage collection service fee will be included in the electricity bill from April 1. This was done to address the issue of many households not paying for the garbage collection services in the greater Male area.
WAMCO had earlier said that the bill for lifts and maintenance metres used in buildings will not be linked to the company's bill. However, lifts and maintenance metres that are not identified from the list of metres in STELCO’s database will be included in the bill.
The company has introduced a Utility Metres Exclusion form to collect information about such unmarked metres.
WAMCO says:
-
A Primary Metres Identification and Grouping form has also been introduced for the caretakers of commercial residential complexes
-
WAMCO requests to complete both the forms and submit it to WAMCO
-
They are also requested to complete the Information Update Form sent to various institutions and businesses availing the services of WAMCO at present
-
Candidates need to submit their applications by April 6
-
Candidates can also apply through the official website of WAMCO
According to the company, services will remain suspended for those who do not submit information during this period.
WAMCO had earlier said that once the applications are submitted, the company will study the meter for five days and deduct it from billing for mining services.
From April onwards, the electricity bill will include the garbage collection fee, while some changes have been made in the way WAMCO serves.
-
Household waste will be collected at MVR 150 as already being charged (at the rate of MVR 150 per month to MVR 1,800 per year, divided for 365 days at the rate of MVR 4.9 per day)
-
The bill will be based on the number of days the electricity bill is prepared by STELCO
-
From April, garbage from households and commercial establishments will be collected from the ground floor of the building; the collection time is between 5pm and 7pm
-
The commercial collection service will start from MVR 972 (this is a baseline package of 120 litres per day)
-
Places that generate less than that amount can apply for smaller packages
