Thinadhoo to award 150 land plots
The council said that 1,500 sqft to 2,000 sqft plots will be allotted.

The island council in GDh. Thinadhoo opened applications on Thursday for allotment of land from the island to natives as well as foreigners.
Thinadhoo xouncil announced that 150 plots would be allotted for residential purposes as "conditional plots".
The council said that 1,500 sqft to 2,000 sqft plots will be allotted from block number I, J, K, L, O, P, R, V, W -- the nine blocks earmarked for allotment of land in Thinadhoo land use plan.
Three categories of plots will be allotted:

Category A: 70 plots for Thinadhoo residents and Thinadhoo citizens

Category B: 66 plots for out-of-town residents

Category C: 5 plots for single parents (fit for Category A), 3 plots for outsiders who are running businesses in the island (category B), and 6 plots for professional service providers (categories A and B)
Eligibility criteria for land applicants:

A Maldivian citizen of at least 18 years old

No government-allotted flat, row house, flat, land or private land registered in their name

A portion of a land plot (whether large or smaller than 600 square feet) is not registered by gift or heritage, or to release a portion of such land in accordance with this rule

The applicant's spouse should not have received a house or flat or row house from Thinadhoo at any time
According to the council's notification, those who fulfil the criteria mentioned in the land application policy will have to submit their applications by June 1.

Applications will be accepted by the council from 9am to 1pm on all working days from May 18.
