Thinadhoo hospital introduces chemotherapy services

The government-run regional hospital said chemotherapy service was introduced with the support of Hulhumale Hospital.

GDh. Thinadhoo Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital (ASMH) on Monday launched chemotherapy service for cancer patients.

At a special ceremony held at the hospital Monday morning, CEO Abdul Aziz Rifau launched the service.

"This is part of our ongoing efforts to improve the hospital's services," he said. 

The government-run regional hospital said chemotherapy service was introduced with the support of Hulhumale Hospital. Doctors and nurses at ASMH are being trained with the help of the Hulhumale Hospital, it added.

"We are in talks with STO to provide chemotherapy service in a sustainable manner," a statement issued by the hospital read. 

Last week, the hospital also introduced laparoscopic abdominal surgery and advanced wound care with state-of-the-art equipment.
