An animal sighted in the N. Maafaru airport development area on Monday was not dangerous, the army has said.
An unidentified large animal was sighted in the Maafaru airport area on Monday. A video of the animal also started circulating on social media.

Maafaru council said in a statement on Tuesday that it had been informed by MNDF that no animal like a tiger had been found in the island's airport area.
After analysing the video of the animal, the MNDF said it was not harmful, the council said. However, the council did not say what kind of animal it was.
