Nashiz appointed Solih's election agent; Tholal as Yameen's agent
Nominations for the September 9 presidential election are being accepted from 9am Sunday to 2pm on August 7.
Kinbidhoo MP Mohamed Nashiz has been appointed as the election agent of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, while PPM secretary general Ahmed Tholal will serve as the election agent of opposition PPM-PNC coalition's presidential candidate Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
Although president Solih's election agent has not yet been formally announced, a senior party campaign leader confirmed to Atoll Times on Monday that Nashiz, who was also the president's campaign manager in MDP's presidential primary, has been appointed to the post.
The election agent of the Progressive Congress coalition was announced in a tweet by PNC president Abdul Raheem Abdulla.
Nominations for the September 9 presidential election are being accepted from 9am Sunday to 2pm on August 7 from the election headquarters at Dharubaaruge.
The opposition PPM-PNC has handed over their presidential ticket to Yameen.
