RTL ferry service slated for Noonu atoll next, says pres
The president said that the service will be launched in the Noonu Atoll in the next two to three months.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said on Sunday that the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service, which aims to link the entire Maldives via a high-speed ferry network, will be introduced in the northern Noonu Atoll next.
Speaking at a rally with his supporters in N. Lhohi as part of his re-election campaign, the president said that contracts have been awarded to build the ferry boats needed to start the RTL service in Noonu Atoll.
He said the atolls where the RTL ferry service has already been started are witnessing unprecedented development.
"We started the RTL service on a large scale. We started in Huvadhoo Atoll as well. Then the service will come to Noonu Atoll," he said.
The president said that the service will be launched in the Noonu Atoll in the next two to three months.
"These outer atolls are witnessing the kind of growth that we could not have imagined. We can see it from Boduthiladhunmathi to Huvadhoo atoll," he said.

State-owned MTCC, which has been contracted by the government to implement the network. aims to connect all parts of the country through RTL ferry system by next year.
