Former President Abdulla Yameen is asking for increased support for PNC-PPM candidate Dr Mohamed Muizz in the second round of presidential election, his top lawyer Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed said on Sunday.
After visiting Yameen, who is serving an 11-year prison sentence in K. Maafushi jail, Jameel gave Yameen’s message to all of his supporters in asking to increase support for Muizz.
Beginning by bidding thanks to the people on behalf of Yameen, Jameel said that Yameen asked the people to give more support and encourage Muizz to win the second round slated for September 30.
"This is a good opportunity to withdraw foreign troops and liberate the country," Jameel wrote on X.
