Speedboat capsize survivor discharged; search for Minhaj continues
Police and coastguard are currently searching for the missing man that was on the speedboat.

The man who survived a speedboat that capsized off AA. Maalhos while travelling from Male to AA. Ukulhas on Thursday has been discharged from hospital after treatment while the search is still underway for the other crewman on the capsized speedboat who had gone missing, police said Sunday.
The speedboat with two men left Male 1.30pm on Thursday and was found capsized on Friday near Maalhos.

The other man, Mohamed Minhaj, 28 of Minha/S. Hithadhoo is still missing
Police said on Sunday evening that the man found has now been released after treatment at IGMH.
Police said 87.6 square miles of sea has been searched so far to locate Minhaj.

A marine police dive team travelled to Alif Alif atoll on the same day the speedboat had capsized, and began searching the area.

The speedboat that had been found capsized near Maalhos was taken to Himandhoo at approximately 1.30pm on Sunday.
"Police and coast guard are currently searching for the missing man on the speedboat. The sea area to the west of Feridhoo is scheduled to be inspected by divers tomorrow," read a statement published on the police website.
Police added that they are investigating the speedboat capsize.
Police have requested to share information with 119 or 3322111 if Minhaj is found or if there is any information regarding the missing person.
