Government has blocked pornographic websites in Maldives, making it the first time such a decision has been taken and implemented in the country.
A senior government official told Atoll Times on condition of anonymity that the Communications Authority of Maldives (CAM) was asked on Thursday to block all pornographic sites.
The government and internet service providers have yet to comment on the matter. However, the official confirmed that access to such websites has been cut off from today.
People have reported that pornographic websites are inaccessible on the networks of Dhiraagu and Ooredoo, the main internet service providers in Maldives.
