Government will host forums every three months to answer questions from the public, with the first forum taking place next month, President Mohamed Muizzu said Monday evening.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the mayor and councillors who won the by-election of the Male City Council, the President said the public will be given the opportunity to ask questions at the forum.
President Muizzu will start his visits to the islands next week.
"I have decided to meet with the people of all the islands. Hopefully I will start the trips next week. And I will meet with the people of all the islands very soon, as time permits me," he said.
In addition, ministers will meet with the people every two months to explain the work of the government ministries, he said.
"Ministers will be given the opportunity to answer questions directly in the public forum. The first forum will be held next week," he said.
The President said there is no question that cannot be answered and he and his team are doing the work entrusted to them by the people.
