Main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) on Saturday condemned the Israeli military's attack on the aid convoy carrying direly needed humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza.

The attack killed more than 100 innocent Palestinians and MDP condemned the attack and called for an immediate halt to Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people.

The statement said Israel violated human rights and dignity and international law.

Israel is depriving the Palestinian people of many rights through the use of force and aggressive attacks and is not allowing anyone to enter the territory carrying aid with basic necessities for the people of Gaza, the MDP said.

More than 30,000 people have been killed in Gaza so far and Israel is violating the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling in January.

The holy month of Ramadan is coming and it is important for Israel to stop its attacks on Palestinians, at such a moment in time, MDP said.

The MDP called on countries that supply weapons to Israel to stop. They also called for an end to the genocide and for Israel to be held accountable for its actions.
