The Aviation Security Command on Sunday seized more than USD 81,000 from a foreigner who was trying to smuggle it out of the Velana International Airport (VIA).
The Aviation Security Command said in an X post on Sunday that the dollars were seized from the luggage of a Bangladeshi citizen who was travelling to Dhaka on US-Bangla Airlines.
The luggage contained USD 81,030 (MVR 1.2 million), the post said.
