Oct 12 (Reuters) - At least four people were killed and about 60 injured as an express train derailed in the Indian state of Bihar on Wednesday, a police official told Reuters.
Some coaches of North-East Express train, which runs from Delhi to Assam derailed at the Raghunathpur railway station in Bihar's Buxar district around 1605 GMT on Wednesday, East Central Railway said in a post on social media platform X.
Among the 60 injured, some were sent to Patna, the capital of Bihar, the official said.
Due to the accident, movement on both up and down tracks has been disrupted, leading to diversion of several passenger and goods trains, media reports said.
"Rescue operation going on at war footing at Buxar derailment site," Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways said in a post on X, adding that National and State Disaster Response Forces, the District administration and Railway officials, are all working as one team.
