Missile strikes Ukrainian port of Odesa, 13 injured, regional governor says
Odesa is a frequent target of Russian attacks and missiles have hit sites in the city over the past two days, killing eight people.
May 1 (Reuters) - A Russian ballistic missile struck the Ukrainian port of Odesa late on Wednesday, injuring at least 13 people and triggering a large fire, Regional Governor Oleh Kiper said on Telegram.
Pictures and video posted on media Telegram channels showed flames at the site and large clouds of smoke billowing skywards.
One media channel said the warehouse of Nova Poshta, a large postal and courier company, had been hit and posted a video showing the moment of impact with debris flying inside the facility.
Twenty years ago in 2004, most of Central and Eastern Europe joined the European Union. Today, the bloc is made up of 27 nations and almost 450 million people.
