Govt to submit 2025 budget to parliament on Thursday

The budget for the upcoming year will be presented to parliament on Thursday.
During a meeting of the budget committee, which comprises finance committee and economic committee on Sunday, Deputy speaker Ahmed Nazim confirmed the budget session will take place on Thursday.
Nazim indicated that the 2025 national budget is expected to be finalised within the next two days. He noted that the budget presentation session, as required by law, is scheduled for Thursday.
The committee is also reviewing four tax-related bills in preparation for the budget. These four bills are set to be passed before the budget presentation.
