Maldives, Malaysia leaders discuss expanding Halal tourism, investment
The Malaysian Prime Minister stated that Malaysia is prepared to share its experience in the halal industry.

President Mohamed Muizzu met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim Monday to discuss opportunities for expanding halal tourism and investment in the Maldives.
The meeting took place during President Muizzu’s visit to Malaysia, made at the invitation of the Malaysian Prime Minister.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, including halal tourism. They agreed to use next year's 'Visit Malaysia Expo' to increase the number of tourists travelling between the Maldives and Malaysia and to collaborate in identifying opportunities in halal tourism.
The Malaysian Prime Minister stated that Malaysia is prepared to share its experience in the halal industry.
President Muizzu highlighted investment opportunities available in the Maldives and invited Malaysian investors to explore these prospects.
During the visit, agreements were signed between the two countries covering five areas.

Expansion of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP).

Discussions on the situation in Palestine and the humanitarian crisis in Myanmar following the earthquake.

Condemnation of acts of terrorism and agreement to continue joint efforts to combat terrorism.
President Muizzu’s official visit to Malaysia will continue until the end of April.
