MIFCO signs MoU with UK’s Princes Group to supply fresh, canned Fish

The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Kingdom-based Princes Group to facilitate the sale of fresh and processed fish products.
The agreement was signed by MIFCO Chief Executive Officer Farhath Shaheer and Princes Group Chief Purchasing Officer Neil Bohonan.
According to MIFCO, the agreement establishes a framework for long-term commercial collaboration. As part of the arrangement, Princes Group has agreed to purchase chilled and frozen raw fish, as well as canned fish products processed and packed at MIFCO’s Lh. Felivaru facility.
MIFCO stated that the agreement will contribute to the strengthening of fish procurement standards and support the expansion of trade ties with international partners.
The United Kingdom remains one of the primary destinations for canned fish exports from the Maldives.
