MACL begins assessment of 9 domestic airports
The airports were previously operated by the Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL), which is being dissolved as part of a merger with MACL.
The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has begun assessing the condition of nine domestic airports recently transferred to its management.
The airports were previously operated by the Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL), which is being dissolved as part of a merger with MACL. Following the transfer, MACL has taken over responsibility for all nine facilities.
In a statement issued on Sunday, MACL said its executive committee and technical team have started visits to the airports to identify operational requirements and areas in need of strengthening. The team also met with employees working at the sites during these visits.
MACL assumed control of the airports last month after the merger was finalised. The company stated that the ongoing assessments will guide the next steps in managing and developing the domestic airports.
