Nominations for the Hotelier Maldives Awards 2026 closed on Monday, following a seven-day extension granted in response to requests from resorts.
The original deadline of 2 February was extended to allow additional time for submissions. By the close of nominations, more than 460 entries had been received from resorts across the Maldives’ 179 operational properties.
Submissions were received from a range of resorts, including local and international groups and properties operating across different market segments.
Presented by Bestbuy Maldives (BBM), the awards recognise the work of hospitality professionals across resort operations, covering individual and team categories. First launched in 2024, the programme focuses on recognising resort-based hospitality professionals.
The 2026 edition includes new team-based categories alongside existing individual awards, making it the largest awards cycle to date. All nominations were submitted through the official online portal and required endorsement letters from each resort’s general manager or human resources department.
Hotelier Maldives said the panel of judges for the 2026 awards will be announced shortly. Once appointed, the judges will review submissions and shortlist nominees, after which public voting is scheduled to open in early March 2026.
The Hotelier Maldives Awards 2026 gala ceremony is planned for mid-April, bringing together professionals and stakeholders from the resort sector.
Further announcements on the judging panel, public voting and event arrangements will be made through Hotelier Maldives’ official channels.
