Maldive Gas has resumed normal sales of cooking gas following the arrival of a new shipment, ending earlier restrictions on distribution.
The company had introduced temporary measures due to disruptions in global gas supply linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. During this period, customers were limited to purchasing 5kg of gas in 10kg cylinders.
State Trading Organisation (STO), the parent company of Maldive Gas, announced on Monday that a new shipment has been received.
With the arrival of the shipment, the supply of cooking gas has stabilised, and customers can now purchase full 10kg cylinders.
Global supply challenges have affected several countries. India has also reported shortages that have impacted businesses, including restaurants.
