Maldive Gas has increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplied to resorts and commercial customers.
The company, a subsidiary of State Trading Organisation, has revised refill rates for both 45-kilogramme and 22-kilogramme gas cylinders.
According to the company, the price adjustment follows an increase in international oil and gas procurement costs linked to ongoing developments in the Middle East.
Under the revised rates, refills for 45-kilogramme cylinders supplied to resort customers have increased by 25 per cent compared with previous prices.
For other commercial customers, including cafés, hotels and businesses, the refill cost for 45-kilogramme cylinders has increased by 15 per cent.
The price of refilling 22-kilogramme cylinders has also been increased by 14 per cent.
The State Trading Organization said the revised rates apply only to commercial customers, including resorts, hotels, cafés and other businesses.
The company added that LPG prices for household consumers remain unchanged despite the increase in commercial refill rates.
The latest adjustment comes as energy markets continue to face pressure from developments affecting global oil and gas supply chains.
