A new Managing Director has been appointed to Maldives Ports Limited (MPL).
The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday that Hussain Shafeeq has been appointed to the MPL Board of Directors, and to the roles of Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.
Details of Shafeeq’s professional background have not been disclosed.
He becomes the third individual to hold the position of Managing Director of MPL under the current administration.
Shafeeq replaces Mohamed Rishwan, who served in the role until the conclusion of the elections held on 4 April.
Prior to Rishwan, the position was held by Mohamed Wajeeh, who was dismissed in February last year.
