MIFCO has launched its Fasmeeru brand of products in Sri Lanka.
The products were introduced at a ceremony held in Colombo on Tuesday during the state visit by President Mohamed Muizzu.
MIFCO stated that the introduction of the Fasmeeru brand to Sri Lanka marks a step to expand Maldives’ seafood products in foreign markets and to promote fisheries practices focused on environmental standards.
According to the company, Fasmeeru products were introduced under an agreement with Development Interplan Ceylon Pvt Ltd (DICL).
Under the agreement, the products will be supplied to hotels, restaurants and catering services in Sri Lanka. Distribution will also take place through retail and wholesale channels.
The ceremony was attended by President Muizzu, Sri Lanka’s Minister of Trade and Commerce Vasantha Samarasinghe, and officials from both countries.
