The Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises has announced that salaries and allowances for civil servants for this month will be disbursed on May 28 and May 31.
The government is currently observing the Eid al-Adha holidays, with state offices closed from last Friday until next Saturday. During the holiday period, banks are scheduled to operate only on Thursday.
The timing of salary payments had prompted discussion on social media, as the extended holiday period coincides with the end of the month.
A Finance Ministry official stated on Monday that, under the Public Finance Regulations, salaries are required to be processed within the final three working days of the month.
According to the official, administrative arrangements required for salary disbursement are currently being completed.
The official further stated that payments will be processed on Thursday, when banks reopen during the holiday period, and on Sunday, when government offices resume operations.
The ministry noted that the payment schedule was determined after considering the Eid holiday period and the operating hours of banks during the holidays.
