PCB removes MTDC chief Niyaz in SOE board reshuffle
The board also appointed new directors to four state-owned enterprises.
The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) has removed Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) Managing Director Ahmed Niyaz and announced a series of board appointments across several state-owned enterprises.
In a decision announced on Thursday, the PCB removed Ahmed Niyaz of Hassankaarige, S. Hulhudhoo, from his positions as Managing Director and member of the MTDC Board of Directors.
The PCB has not announced a replacement for the position of Managing Director.
The board also appointed new directors to four state-owned enterprises.
Abdulla Yameen of Ma. Shaheen was appointed to the board of Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC).
Maeesha Ibrahim of Thikureethu, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, was appointed to the board of Island Aviation Services (IAS).
Shahid Moosa of Fehivina, Dh. Bandidhoo, joined the board of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
Ahmed Mazin of G. Baanee, who serves as a State Minister at the Ministry of Finance, was appointed to the board of the Maldives Hajj Corporation.
The latest appointments follow changes announced by the PCB on Wednesday, when new board members were appointed to the Business Center Corporation (BCC), Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) and Maldives Fund Management Corporation (MFMC).
