China was the single biggest source market for Maldives' tourism last month as well, according to immigration statistics.
A total of 159,141 tourists arrived in Maldives last month, according to statistics released by the immigration department on Monday. They include:

China had the highest number of tourists from a single country in the past three months.
China is currently the third largest market in terms of total tourist arrivals.
The government aims to attract 1.9 million tourists by the end of this year.
Although the target is 2 million tourists next year, tourists from Europe are expected to decline next year. However, the Chinese market is expected to grow next year, according to the budget proposal for next year.
