President decides to establish national sports fund

President Mohamed Muizzu has decided to establish a fund titled, National Sports Fund.
The decision was made after deliberations during the cabinet meeting held on Monday.

The decision came after careful consideration of a proposal presented by Abdulla Rafiu, the Minister of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation. The fund aims to increase the number of players and athletes, improve and develop sports, and empower the local sporting community.
On the same day, the cabinet resolved to take all necessary steps to establish the National Sports Fund, including making required amendments to the Sports Act.
